What should be my first concern?

Stop the water source if youu are able to do so safely. DO NOT walk into water. Electrical hazards may be deadly. Contact a certified water restoration company to start the emergency service.

 
Should I move my furniture out of the affected rooms?

One's safety is more important than the contents the water has affected. Leave the furniture in place until a trained technician can evaluate the situation Electrical hazards can lead to death if not properly identified. Most generally, contents will be dried in place, then evaluated once drying is complete.

Who pays the bill?

AllServ will directly submit a bill to the insurance company on behalf of the customer.

     
What is a deductible and when is it due?

A deductible is the amount you must pay to correct or repair the covered loss before the insurance company will begin to pay. If the job qualifies, we work with your insurance company on the payment terms. You, the customer, pay the deductable when the water technician arrives and signs paperwork that authorizes AllServ to do the work.

 
Is the estimated amount the final bill?

No, it is understood that a supplemental bill may be needed for unforeseen damage. Any additional costs will always be approved and discussed with the homeowner first!

     
How do we know when our structure is completely dry?

E
ven though the walls or floor appear to be dry, the only way to detect the moisture content is by utilizing water detection instrurrents such as a moisture probe. We will take regular moisture readings throughout the affected space and will let you know when the area is completely dry.

 
If water damage occurs, does that mean that my carpet or floors are ruined?

One of the biggest issues with water damage is the effect on floors and carpet. Fortunately, AllServ understands these issues and provides quick water restoration services as well as using today's latest technology so that flooring may be saved.

     
How long will it take to repair the water damage?

The initial extraction of standing water will only take a few hours. To completely dry the structure may take 3-5 day. Any additional damage, such as to the walls, floors or ceiling will be repaired after everything is dry. The entire process usually takes less than 10 days.

 

Will there be an odor?

Lingering odors are normal during the drying process which disappears after the structure is completely dry.

     
Will my carpet cleaner or Shop-vac® be sufficient?

The carpet and padding are only the tip of the iceberg. Water damage can migrate to areas further than expected. Utilizing moisture detection equipment will allow us to properly determine the extent of the damage and prevent potential mold growth.
